Alison Paterson has a strong background in corporate governance in both the service and health industries, including previous appointments as chairman of Waitemata District Health Board and District Health Boards New Zealand Inc. She has also served as a deputy chairman for Health Waikato and as a director of Health Benefits Limited.

In addition to her role with Abano, Alison is currently chairman of Ambulance New Zealand Stakeholders Committee, BPAC NZ Limited, Stevenson Agricultural and the University of Auckland, Governing Board, National Research Centre for Growth and Development.

She is also deputy chair of Stevenson Group, a director of Vector Lmited, Pro Chancellor of Massey University, and a member of the NZ Markets Disciplinary Tribunal.
